Not enough memory to complete the update
What it means
Windows ran out of memory while preparing or installing the update. It is not always about physical RAM.
Common causes
- Too many programs running during the install
- A page file that is too small or disabled
- A memory leak in a running app
How to fix it
- Close everything you do not need, then retry the update.
- Let Windows manage the page file size: System > About > Advanced system settings > Performance > Advanced > Virtual memory.
- Restart before installing, so leaked memory is released.
- If it returns with plenty of free RAM, run Windows Memory Diagnostic.
