What it means
Windows Update offered a driver that is already present or older than the installed one. The error is harmless.
Common causes
- A duplicate optional driver in the catalogue
- An older driver offered after a manual install
How to fix it
- Ignore it, or hide the update: Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates.
- Update the driver directly from the device maker instead of Windows Update.
- Do not roll back a working driver just to clear the message.
