The network location cannot be reached

What it means

The Store could not reach Microsoft's servers, so it cannot check licences, downloads or updates.

Common causes

• No connection or a captive portal
• A proxy or VPN blocks the Store
• DNS or the network stack is in a bad state

How to fix it

1. Flush DNS: run ipconfig /flushdns in Terminal, then reload the page.
2. Turn the VPN and any proxy off, then reopen the Store.
3. Run netsh winsock reset and ipconfig /flushdns in Terminal (Admin), then restart the PC.
4. Run wsreset and check Windows Update, which shares the same endpoints.
