What it means
Windows could not reach a Microsoft server in time. Shows up in Update, the Store and Office.
Common causes
- Firewall or proxy
- Slow or broken connection
How to fix it
- Check the connection in a browser.
- Turn off proxy settings (Settings > Network > Proxy).
- Pause third-party firewalls and VPNs.
