The package could not be found

What it means

The Store tried to act on a package that is no longer in its database, which happens after a half-finished uninstall or a profile reset.

Common causes

• A package folder deleted by hand or by a cleaner tool
• A failed update that removed the old version first
• A Store cache that lists apps that are gone

How to fix it

1. Run wsreset.exe and reopen the Store so it rebuilds its list.
2. Reinstall the app from the Store; the missing files come back with it.
3. If the Store still lists it as installed, remove the app with Get-AppxPackage <name> | Remove-AppxPackage and install it fresh.
