App installation failed

What it means

The Store downloaded the app but Windows could not register the package, often because the Store cache or a pending update is in the way.

Common causes

• A stuck Store cache
• A pending Windows update
• The app is already half installed

How to fix it

1. Run wsreset from the Run box and wait for the Store to reopen.
2. Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Store > Advanced options: Repair, then Reset.
3. Install pending Windows updates and restart, then retry the app.
