The app could not be installed because it conflicts with another package

What it means

Windows refused the install because the package overlaps with something already on the PC, such as a different version from another source.

Common causes

• A version of the app installed from outside the Store
• A leftover package registration from an uninstalled app
• A Store and an enterprise package claiming the same identity

How to fix it

1. Remove the existing copy in Settings > Apps > Installed apps, then install again from the Store.
2. Check for a leftover with Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers <name> in PowerShell and remove it with Remove-AppxPackage.
3. Restart before retrying so the package database is reloaded.
