Missing update package

What it means

A cumulative update needs an earlier package that is missing from your PC.

Common causes

• An earlier update failed or was removed

How to fix it

1. Download the update listed in Update history from the Microsoft Update Catalog and install it by hand.
2. Run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
3. Reset the update cache: in Terminal (Admin) run net stop wuauserv, net stop bits, rename C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution.old, then net start wuauserv and net start bits.
