What it means

An update download stopped before it completed.

Common causes

• Unstable connection
• BITS service stopped

How to fix it

1. Check that Background Intelligent Transfer Service is running in services.msc.
2. Reset the update cache: in Terminal (Admin) run net stop wuauserv, net stop bits, rename C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution.old, then net start wuauserv and net start bits.
3. Try again on a stable connection.
