Setup was blocked by an incompatible app

What it means

An installed program is flagged as incompatible with the new Windows version, so setup stops before it touches your system.

Common causes

• An old antivirus or driver helper app
• A program that installs a kernel driver with no update available
• Software that Setup cannot uninstall cleanly

How to fix it

1. Open the compatibility report Setup shows and uninstall the app it names, then rerun setup.
2. If the app has a newer version, install that instead of removing it.
3. Check setuperr.log in C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther if the dialog does not name the program.
