The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors
Boot configuration data missing
What it means
The boot manager cannot open the BCD store at all, so Windows cannot be started even though the files may still be on disk.
Common causes
- The EFI system partition was formatted or replaced
- A clone or partition tool moved the boot files
- A disk that dropped out of the firmware's boot order
How to fix it
- Start the PC from the Windows install stick or recovery drive, then choose Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
- Run
bootrec /rebuildbcd; if it cannot find Windows, rebuild the boot files withbcdboot C:\Windows /s S: /f UEFI. - Check the BIOS boot order and make sure the Windows Boot Manager entry is first.
