Code 16
Windows cannot identify all the resources this device uses
What it means
The device needs memory ranges or interrupts that Windows could not assign, often because another device reserved them.
Common causes
- Two devices competing for the same resource
- An old driver that does not support resource rebalancing
- BIOS settings reserving a range
How to fix it
- Update the driver for the device and the chipset driver.
- Reset the BIOS to defaults and, if the board is old, update the BIOS.
- Move the card to another slot so it gets a different interrupt.
- Disable devices you do not use in the BIOS to free resources.
