Code 29
The firmware did not give the device the resources it needs
What it means
The device is disabled because the BIOS/UEFI did not assign it memory or interrupt space at boot.
Common causes
- BIOS settings or an old BIOS
- The device is in a slot the board cannot map
- A resource-hungry add-in card
How to fix it
- Reset the BIOS to optimised defaults, save and restart.
- Update the BIOS from the board maker if an update exists.
- Move the card to another slot and reseat it.
- On modern boards, check Above 4G Decoding and Resizable BAR only if the maker's manual recommends it.
