Code 43
Windows has stopped this device
What it means
The device or its driver reported a problem and Windows switched it off. Common on GPUs and USB devices.
Common causes
- A driver crash
- A loose cable or bad USB port
- A failing device
How to fix it
- Shut down fully, unplug the device, wait a minute and plug it back in (another port for USB).
- In Device Manager, uninstall the device (tick "delete the driver" if offered) and restart.
- Update the graphics, chipset and network drivers from the maker's site (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel or your board vendor), not from a driver-updater tool.
- Test the device in another PC.
