Code 9
Windows cannot identify this hardware
What it means
The device did not report a valid hardware ID, so Windows has nothing to match a driver against.
Common causes
- A loose card or cable
- A failing device or port
- A USB port that does not deliver enough power
How to fix it
- Unplug and reseat the device, or move a card to another slot.
- Try another USB port, preferably on the back of the PC.
- Check the BIOS to see whether the device is listed there.
- If it is not listed anywhere and reseating does not help, the device is likely faulty.
