CPU overtemperature
The PC shuts down under load
What it means
The processor reached its shutdown limit, so the board cut power before it could damage itself.
Common causes
- The cooler is loose or its pump is dead
- Dry thermal paste
- Blocked airflow or a fan curve that never ramps
How to fix it
- Watch CPU temperature in HWiNFO; anything near 100 °C is a cooling fault, not a software one.
- With the PC off, check that the cooler is tight and that an AIO pump reports RPM.
- Clean dust and make sure the fans actually spin under load.
- Reapply thermal paste and reseat the cooler if temperatures stay high at stock settings.
