DISORDERLY_SHUTDOWN
What it means
The PC lost power or was switched off while Windows was still writing, so the shutdown could not be completed cleanly.
Common causes
- A power cut or a hard reset while the PC was busy
- A failing power supply that drops under load
- An overheating CPU reaching its shutdown limit
How to fix it
- Let Windows shut down completely next time; if it repeats, check the power supply and the wall socket.
- Run
chkdsk C: /fto repair what the unclean shutdown left behind. - Watch the CPU temperature under load; above about 95 °C the machine will keep shutting itself down.
