DNS server isn't responding

Network diagnostics: DNS

What it means

Windows reached the router but the DNS server it uses does not answer.

Common causes

• Provider DNS outage
• Router DNS relay stuck

How to fix it

1. Restart the router and modem: power off for 30 seconds, then on again.
2. Set DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 or 9.9.9.9 on the adapter.
3. Flush DNS: run ipconfig /flushdns in Terminal, then reload the page.
