DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER
What it means
A driver wrote past the end of its memory buffer, and Windows stopped it.
Common causes
- A buggy or outdated driver
- Malware
How to fix it
- Open the crash dump in WhoCrashed or BlueScreenView: it usually names the driver file that caused it (for example
nvlddmkm.sysis the NVIDIA driver). - Update the graphics, chipset and network drivers from the maker's site (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel or your board vendor), not from a driver-updater tool.
- Run a full scan with Windows Security (Microsoft Defender Offline scan).
