ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE

The address is unreachable

What it means

Windows has no route to that IP address: the device is on another network, offline, or a firewall drops the traffic.

Common causes

• Wrong IP or subnet
• A VPN route that excludes the target
• Firewall or router blocking the address

How to fix it

1. Check the address and whether the device or site is on the same network.
2. Turn the VPN off and try again; split tunnelling often breaks local and internal addresses.
3. Ping the address in Terminal: ping 192.168.1.1 for your router, or the site's IP.
4. Check whether the site is up from another network before changing firewall rules.
