GPU fans not spinning
The card's fans stay still
What it means
Many cards stop their fans below about 50 to 60 °C on purpose. If they never spin under load, cooling is not working.
Common causes
- Zero-fan mode at idle (normal)
- A fan curve that is set too low
- A disconnected or failed fan
How to fix it
- Start a game or a benchmark and watch the fans for a minute; they should spin under load.
- Check the card's own software for a zero-fan or silent mode.
- Reseat the fan and power connectors if the card uses a separate header.
- If a fan never spins while the card is hot, stop using it under load and contact the maker.
