KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR
What it means
Windows needed part of the kernel back from the paging file and the read failed, which points at the disk or its cable rather than at software.
Common causes
- A failing drive or SSD
- A loose or damaged SATA cable
- Bad RAM or a corrupted paging file
How to fix it
- Run
chkdsk C: /f /rin Terminal (Admin) and read the result carefully. - Check the drive's health in CrystalDiskInfo. A Caution or Bad status means back up now and replace the drive.
- Reseat the drive cable, or move the drive to another SATA port, then test again.
- Test the RAM: run Windows Memory Diagnostic (search
mdsched) or MemTest86 from a USB stick. Any error means a stick or its speed setting is the problem.
