No valid IP configuration

Ethernet or Wi-Fi doesn't have a valid IP configuration

What it means

Your PC did not get an address from the router, so it cannot reach the internet.

Common causes

• The router's DHCP did not answer
• A broken network stack
• A bad cable

How to fix it

1. Restart the router and modem: power off for 30 seconds, then on again.
2. Run ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew in Terminal (Admin).
3. Run netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset, then restart.
4. Try another cable or router port.
