PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
What it means
Windows looked for data that must always be in memory and did not find it.
Common causes
- Faulty RAM
- A buggy driver
- Damaged system files
How to fix it
- Think about what changed just before it started (new driver, app, update or hardware) and undo that first. System Restore can roll back drivers without touching your files.
- Test the RAM: run Windows Memory Diagnostic (search
mdsched) or MemTest86 from a USB stick. Any error means a stick or its speed setting is the problem. - Open the crash dump in WhoCrashed or BlueScreenView: it usually names the driver file that caused it (for example
nvlddmkm.sysis the NVIDIA driver). - Open Terminal (Admin) and run
sfc /scannow, thenDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. Restart afterwards.
