The handle is invalid (printing)
What it means
Windows lost the connection to the printer while a job was being sent, so the job failed with an invalid handle.
Common causes
- The printer went offline mid-job
- A USB cable or port dropped
- The driver crashed
How to fix it
- Check the cable and try another USB port, or use the network connection if the printer has one.
- Restart the spooler and resend one page, not the whole document.
- Reinstall the printer driver if it keeps happening on every job.
- For a USB printer, turn off USB power saving for that port in Device Manager.
