What it means
Windows searched the network and found no printer it could add, usually because discovery or the address is wrong.
Common causes
- Network discovery is off
- The printer is on another subnet or VLAN
- The printer sleeps and does not answer discovery
How to fix it
- Print the printer's network page and open its IP address in a browser; the web interface should load.
- Add the printer manually with Add device > The printer I want isn't listed > Add using IP address.
- Turn on network discovery and file and printer sharing for private networks.
- Wake the printer and give it a fixed IP in the router.
