Driver is unavailable
Windows has no driver for this printer
What it means
The printer entry exists but its driver package is missing, incomplete or built for another architecture.
Common causes
- A driver removed by an update or cleanup tool
- A 32-bit driver on 64-bit Windows
- Only a generic driver was installed
How to fix it
- Remove the printer, then install the maker's full package for your Windows version and architecture.
- Add the printer again after the driver is installed, not before.
- Check Windows Update's optional driver list for the model.
- For an old printer, try the Windows 10 driver in compatibility mode.
