What it means
SmartScreen stopped an unrecognised program from running because it has no reputation or a bad signature.
Common causes
- A new or unsigned program
- A download that is not from the official source
- A file that other users reported
How to fix it
- Only continue if you downloaded it from the official site and can verify the publisher in the file's properties.
- Click More info > Run anyway only for a trusted file; never do this for a crack or a keygen.
- Check the file on VirusTotal if you are unsure.
- If it keeps happening for your own app, sign it with a code-signing certificate.
