SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
What it means
A system routine crashed while switching from normal code into the Windows kernel.
Common causes
- Graphics drivers
- Anti-cheat or antivirus drivers
- Damaged system files
How to fix it
- Open the crash dump in WhoCrashed or BlueScreenView: it usually names the driver file that caused it (for example
nvlddmkm.sysis the NVIDIA driver). - Do a clean graphics driver install: remove the old one with DDU in Safe Mode, then install the latest.
- Open Terminal (Admin) and run
sfc /scannow, thenDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. Restart afterwards. - Think about what changed just before it started (new driver, app, update or hardware) and undo that first. System Restore can roll back drivers without touching your files.
