TPM 2.0 missing
This PC can't run Windows 11
What it means
Windows cannot find a Trusted Platform Module. Windows 11, BitLocker and some anti-cheat systems expect one.
Common causes
- TPM is switched off in the BIOS/UEFI
- Old firmware without fTPM/PTT
- The TPM was cleared or the firmware was reset
How to fix it
- In the BIOS/UEFI enable AMD fTPM or Intel PTT (also called Trusted Platform Module or Security Device Support), save and restart.
- Open
tpm.msc: if it says the TPM is ready, Windows just needs a restart. - Update firmware only from the maker's official support page, with the PC on a stable power source and nothing else running.
- In Device Manager, check Security devices for a warning on the TPM.
- If the board has no TPM header or firmware option, a discrete TPM module may be required.
