Unidentified network

Ethernet: unidentified network

What it means

The PC is connected by cable but got no valid address from the router.

Common causes

• Router DHCP not answering
• Bad cable
• Network stack problem

How to fix it

1. Restart the router and modem: power off for 30 seconds, then on again.
2. Try another cable and router port.
3. Run ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, then netsh winsock reset and restart.
