USB device over current status detected
The board shuts down to protect a USB port
What it means
A USB port drew more current than allowed, so the board stopped the whole system instead of burning the port.
Common causes
- A damaged cable or device
- A bent pin inside a USB port
- A faulty front-panel USB header
How to fix it
- Unplug every USB device and cable, then start the PC.
- Inspect each port with a light for bent pins or debris.
- Disconnect the front-panel USB header from the board and test the rear ports only.
- If the warning returns with nothing plugged in, the board needs service.
