XINPUT1_3.dll
XINPUT1_3.dll is missing
What it means
The game expects the old DirectX 9 XInput library to talk to a controller, and it is not installed.
Common causes
- DirectX 9 components missing on a clean Windows 10 or 11 install
- A game's redistributable was not run
- A damaged DirectX install
How to fix it
- Install the DirectX End-User Runtime from Microsoft, which includes DirectX 9, 10 and 11 libraries.
- Run the redistributable in the game's folder, then restart.
- If a controller still does not work, check it in
joy.cpl.
