Build a God Mode Folder of Every Windows Setting

One folder that lists every control panel applet and settings page in a single scrolling window. It is a naming trick, not a tool.

TL;DR

Create a folder named **GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}** and open it. The suffix is what Windows reads; the prefix is the label you see.

Before you start

Requirements

  • Windows desktop
  • Two minutes
Step by step

Instructions

01

Make the folder on the desktop

Right-click the desktop, create a new folder, and rename it with the full string including the dot and the braces. The icon changes to a control panel the moment the name is accepted.

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
02

Know what the suffix does

The GUID in braces tells Explorer to render a special shell folder. Everything before the dot is a display name you can change freely.

tipRenaming it to All Settings.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} keeps working. Removing the GUID turns it back into an empty folder.
03

Pin it where you will find it

A desktop folder fills with icons. Pin the folder to the taskbar through its context menu, or add it to the Start menu folder so it appears in the app list.

%APPDATA%\icrosoft\indows\tart Menu\rograms
04

Search inside it, not the Start menu

The folder holds shortcuts with descriptive names, so Explorer's own search is faster than guessing which Settings page hides a switch.

05

Expect missing pages on Windows 11

Some applets moved into the Settings app and no longer appear here. The folder lists what still exists in the control panel layer, which is most of the classic tools.

⚠ warningAn empty folder means the name was typed wrong, usually a missing brace or a full stop instead of a dot.
06

Use it to find the page, then leave it

The value is discovery. Once you know that a setting lives in Power Options, pinning that page is faster than opening the full list every time.

Troubleshooting

Common issues

The folder stays empty

The name is wrong. Copy the string exactly, including the braces, and recreate the folder.

Windows renames it back

A sync tool or a policy. Create it outside OneDrive.

The icon is a plain folder

The GUID is not recognised. Check the case of the hex letters and that the braces are straight, not curly.

Nothing opens from a shortcut

The applet was removed in a feature update. Use the Settings app instead.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Is this a hack that breaks something?

No. It is a shell namespace the system already knows; the folder is just a view of it.

Does it work on Windows 10?

Yes, with more entries than on 11.

How to undo this

Delete the folder. It contains shortcuts only, and removing it changes no setting.
